Yeastar P-Series multi-timezone business hours

Published February 25, 20254 min readby The PBXfactory team

Yeastar's P-Series Cloud 84.18.0.59 release adds multi-timezone support: business hours, holidays and time conditions can follow different time zones for extensions, queues and ring groups on one PBX. It also brings per-extension business hours that users can edit in Linkus, time conditions on ring groups and queues, and extension numbers of up to 8 digits.

A single phone system used to mean a single clock. If your support team sat in two countries, the PBX's business hours matched one of them, and the other office worked around it. Yeastar's P-Series Cloud Edition 84.18.0.59, released on 25 February 2025, removes that limit with multi-timezone support.

What's new in Yeastar 84.18.0.59

The new feature in Yeastar's release notes is Multi-Timezone. Around it sit several routing and admin improvements:

  • Business hours per extension, which users can also edit in Linkus Web.
  • Time conditions on ring groups and queues, to send calls elsewhere outside business hours.
  • Extension numbers up to 8 digits.
  • Super admin logins on up to 5 devices at the same time.
  • Voicemail time format — 12-hour or 24-hour — for the date and time announcement.
  • Empty queues skip straight to failover when "Disallow to Join When Empty" is on, without playing the join announcement.
  • Diversion header on extension forwarding, and an option to send the call ID in the SIP INVITE on trunk calls.
  • Archive file limit: recurring archive tasks can keep a fixed number of files and delete the oldest.
  • Yealink AX86R auto provisioning, and Turkish for notification emails.

How multi-timezone business hours work

With multi-timezone, business hours, holidays and time conditions can be set per time zone for extensions, queues, ring groups and other call features. Yeastar built it for distributed teams.

An example: a company with a sales team in Lisbon and a support desk in Nicosia. Before, the PBX had one notion of "open". Now the support queue can follow Nicosia's hours and holidays while the sales ring group follows Lisbon's — on the same PBX, with the same numbers and the same admin panel.

Where time zones matter most

  • Queues and ring groups that should only ring during a local office's hours
  • Public holidays, which differ by country
  • Individual employees who work from another country
  • Out-of-hours routing: voicemail, a duty mobile, or another office that's still open

Per-extension business hours in Linkus

Business hours can now be set per extension. They feed the automatic presence switch: when someone's working day ends, their presence changes and calls follow their after-hours rules.

Users can also adjust their own hours in Linkus Web, under Preferences. There's one condition: the admin has to set custom business hours for that extension first. That keeps control with the admin while letting a part-timer or someone on a different shift keep their own schedule accurate.

Time conditions on ring groups and queues

The second routing change is simple but useful: ring groups and queues now have a Time Condition option. Calls that arrive outside business hours can go to a different destination — voicemail, an IVR, another team — without building extra routing around the group.

Combined with multi-timezone, you can give each group its own local hours and its own out-of-hours plan. Not sure whether a ring group or a queue suits your team? Our guide to ring groups vs call queues explains the difference.

Longer extension numbers

Extension numbers can now be up to 8 digits. Many small businesses manage with three or four, but larger organisations sometimes mirror their direct-dial numbers or site codes in the extension plan. Eight digits gives room for that.

Smaller changes that save time

A few of the quieter changes in 84.18.0.59 are worth knowing:

  • Empty queues fail over straight away. With "Disallow to Join When Empty" on, a caller who reaches a queue with no agents goes directly to the failover destination, without first hearing the join announcement.
  • Archives don't fill up the server. Recurring archive tasks can keep a set number of files and delete the oldest once the limit is reached. The account used for the archive server needs permission to delete files.
  • Voicemail times in your format. The date and time announced in voicemail can use a 12-hour or 24-hour clock per extension; group voicemail follows the system format.

What this means for you

If your team works across borders — or one person works from abroad — multi-timezone saves you from routing workarounds. Set the hours where the people are, and let the PBX handle the clock.

On a Yeastar P-Series Cloud PBX from PBXfactory, Yeastar's firmware updates are applied for you in announced maintenance windows, and urgent security fixes sooner. You don't need to install anything yourself.

Setting up time zones, business hours and time conditions is done in your PBX's admin panel. That's PBX configuration, outside our included support — Yeastar's documentation covers it, and your IT partner or one of our support packages can help you plan the routing.

Questions and answers

Yes. Since 84.18.0.59, business hours, holidays and time conditions can be set per time zone for extensions, queues, ring groups and other call features.
Can users change their own business hours?
Yes, in Linkus, if the admin has set custom business hours for their extension first. These hours drive the automatic presence switch.
Do I need to install 84.18.0.59?
Not on a Yeastar P-Series Cloud PBX from PBXfactory. We apply Yeastar's updates for you in announced maintenance windows — urgent security fixes sooner.
