Yeastar V25.2: ring group and queue routing

Published September 15, 20264 min readby The PBXfactory team

Yeastar P-Series Cloud V25.2 (firmware 84.24.0.73) improves call routing: outside mobiles must press 1 to accept a forwarded call, so calls stop landing in personal voicemail; ring groups can include external numbers; and queues can send repeat callers back to the agent who last helped them.

Yeastar made P-Series V25.2 generally available for the Cloud Edition on 15 September 2026, as firmware 84.24.0.73, after betas on 25 August and 7 September. Where recent releases were about AI, this one is about the plumbing every business uses daily: who rings, in which order, and where a call ends up when nobody picks up. The details below come from Yeastar's release notes.

Call Confirmation: no more calls lost in personal voicemail

A familiar problem: you forward calls to a mobile, the mobile is off or busy, and the mobile network's voicemail answers. For the PBX the call was "answered", so it never tries the next person, and the caller leaves a message nobody checks.

Call Confirmation fixes that. Before a call connects to an outside number, the person there hears a prompt and presses 1 to accept or # to reject. A voicemail system can't press 1, so the call stays with the PBX and follows your routing. It works for:

  • Call forwarding to a mobile number or another external number.
  • "Ring the mobile number simultaneously".
  • External numbers in ring groups (see below).

Ring group routing: outside numbers as members

Ring groups can now include external numbers as members — a colleague's mobile, a branch office, an on-call phone — with Call Confirmation available for them.

There's also a new option: make the extension's "Always" forwarding effective. If a member has "always forward" set, the ring group sends the call straight to that destination instead of ringing the extension. The same option is available for queue agents.

Queue routing: Last Agent Routing

Last Agent Routing sends repeat callers to the agent who last answered them, if they call back within a period you set. For support lines and account management, that means the caller doesn't have to explain everything again to someone new.

It works best when agents handle cases end to end. If any agent can take over a case, standard queue strategies may serve callers faster.

IVR: tell agents where the call came from

IVR keypresses that route to a ring group or queue can now add an extra caller ID name. It's put in front of the caller's name, so the agent sees, for example, which menu option the caller chose before they answer.

Phones, trunks and messaging

  • Several extensions on one IP phone through auto provisioning (not for DECT or hot-desking phones). You choose which extension's phonebook and function keys the phone uses.
  • Diversion header carried in outgoing calls when the trunk's caller ID comes from the trunk settings.
  • Bigger phonebook sync for Wildix WP480R3 and WP480R4.
  • Read receipts for WhatsApp, Facebook and Live Chat messages (Linkus iOS 5.29.14 or Android 5.29.12 or later).
  • New SMS integrations: Clearfly and IZT Cloud Voice.

Reports and records

  • Scheduled reports can use relative date ranges like "yesterday" or "last month".
  • CDR: when a number matches a contact, the company name appears beside it.
  • API: queue options for last-agent routing, ring group options, message reactions, and an "abandoned" status in call-end events for calls the caller hangs up before anyone answers.

Choosing between a ring group and a queue

V25.2 makes both tools better, but the choice between them stays the same: a ring group rings people, a queue holds callers until someone is free. Our guide to ring groups vs call queues explains when each fits.

Setting up Call Confirmation: what to check

Call Confirmation changes what the person on the mobile hears, so a little preparation helps:

  • Tell your team. Anyone who receives forwarded calls should know that a short prompt plays first and that they press 1 to take the call.
  • Test from outside. Call your main number from another phone, let it forward to a mobile, and try both pressing 1 and letting it ring out.
  • Check what happens next. If the mobile doesn't accept, the call returns to your routing — make sure that next step (a colleague, a queue, a voicemail box you actually check) is the one you want.
  • Watch the first week's call records for calls that end unexpectedly.

What this means for you

On a Yeastar P-Series Cloud PBX from PBXfactory, Yeastar's updates are applied for you in announced maintenance windows, and urgent security fixes sooner. Your existing ring groups and queues work as before — the new options are off until you switch them on.

Call Confirmation is the quickest win if your team forwards calls to mobiles. Setting it up, along with ring groups and queues, is PBX configuration: Yeastar's documentation covers it, and our support packages can help if you'd like a second pair of hands.

Questions and answers

What is Call Confirmation in Yeastar V25.2?
When a call is forwarded to a mobile or other outside number, the person there presses 1 to accept or # to reject before the call connects. That keeps calls from being answered by a personal voicemail.
What does Last Agent Routing do?
When the same caller calls a queue again within a period you set, the call goes to the agent who last answered them.
Can a ring group include a mobile number now?
Yes. V25.2 lets you add external numbers as ring group members, with Call Confirmation available for them.
Where are Yeastar's release notes for V25.2?
In Yeastar's release notes for 84.24.0.73.
