Yeastar P-Series: built-in hotel management

Published January 14, 20253 min readby The PBXfactory team

Yeastar's P-Series Cloud 84.18.0.18 release adds a built-in Hotel Management module — front-desk panels, room settings, wake-up calls, guest stay history and billing — so a small or mid-sized hotel can run its phones without a third-party PMS integration. It also adds an Unreturned Missed Call report with live callback status.

Hotels have always needed more from their phone system than an office does. Rooms check in and out, guests want wake-up calls, housekeeping needs to report a room as clean, and calls from the room phone have to end up on the bill. Traditionally, that meant connecting the PBX to a separate property management system (PMS). Yeastar's P-Series Cloud Edition 84.18.0.18, released on 14 January 2025, takes a different route for smaller properties: the hotel features are built into the PBX.

What's new in Yeastar 84.18.0.18

Yeastar's release notes name two new features:

  • Hotel Management — a lightweight, built-in module with front-desk panels, room settings, wake-up service, guest stay history and billing.
  • Unreturned Missed Call report — every missed inbound call, with its callback status updated in real time.

Plus a solid list of improvements:

  • A Hotel Manager role with its own permissions.
  • Feature code *63 for housekeeping to update room status from a room phone.
  • A system prompt language per extension, so each user hears call prompts in their own language.
  • Missed queue calls on agents' IP phones, and permission for queue managers to check and delete missed queue call logs.
  • Trunk options: a default DOD label, assigning a range of DIDs to a trunk in one go, and a P-Early-Media header option for 183 messages.
  • Auto provisioning: Mitel DECT RFP 44, 45, 47 and 48, Yeastar TA FXS gateways, random admin passwords for phones, and wallpaper, screensaver, boot logo and VLAN settings (depending on the model).
  • Report downloads with chosen fields, and scheduled reports with a CSV or XLS attachment in the email.

What Yeastar's Hotel Management module does

Yeastar's press release aims it squarely at small and medium-sized hotels and splits it into two halves.

At the front desk

  • Room assignment, guest check-in and check-out
  • Housekeeping status updates
  • Wake-up calls
  • Room moves
  • Service billing

All of it sits in dedicated service panels, so reception staff work from one screen.

In the back office

  • Custom room statuses and class of service
  • Guest stay history
  • Call accounting
  • Branded invoices

For a guesthouse or a 40-room hotel, that can replace a separate hotel phone integration altogether. Yeastar also says P-Series supports PMS integrations — including Oracle Hospitality Opera — for properties that already run one.

How housekeeping uses the room phone

Small detail, big time-saver: with feature code *63, housekeepers dial from a room's phone to update that room's status. Reception sees the change without anyone walking down to the desk or sending a message.

The Unreturned Missed Call report

The second new feature isn't hotel-specific at all. The Unreturned Missed Call report lists every missed inbound call and shows, live, whether someone has called back.

That answers a question most businesses can't answer today: which callers did we never get back to? For a sales line, a service desk or a hotel reservations number, that list is worth checking every morning. It's available through the API too.

Prompts in each user's own language

Another change in 84.18.0.18 helps hotels and multilingual offices alike: each extension can now have its own system prompt language — the language of the prompts that user hears during calls. Users can set it themselves in Linkus Web, under Preferences.

In a hotel with staff from several countries, or an office where colleagues work in different languages, everyone hears prompts they understand, without changing the PBX's global language for everybody else.

Is Hotel Management for you?

It's a good fit if:

  • you run a small or mid-sized property,
  • you want wake-up calls, room status and call billing without buying a PMS link, and
  • your reception staff already work on the PBX.

If you run a large hotel with an established PMS, the integration route may still suit you better. Yeastar's Hotel Management Guide on the help center explains the module in detail.

On PBXfactory

Yeastar's release notes don't say which plan the Hotel Management module needs. If you run — or plan to run — a hotel on a Yeastar P-Series Cloud PBX from PBXfactory, ask our support whether it's available for your PBX before you rely on it.

Firmware is our side of the job: we apply Yeastar's updates for you, routine ones in announced maintenance windows and urgent security fixes sooner. Setting up rooms, roles and wake-up rules is PBX configuration, which isn't part of included support — Yeastar's guide, your IT partner or our paid support packages cover that.

Questions and answers

Does a hotel still need a PMS integration for its phones?
Not for the basics. Yeastar built the module so smaller hotels can handle check-in, wake-up calls, room status and call billing in the PBX itself. Yeastar also says P-Series supports PMS integrations, for hotels that already run one.
How do housekeepers update a room's status?
From the room phone. 84.18.0.18 adds the feature code *63, which housekeeping staff dial to update the guest room status.
Is Hotel Management included on my PBX?
Yeastar's release notes don't say which plan it needs. If you run a Yeastar P-Series Cloud PBX from PBXfactory, ask our support whether it's available for your PBX.
